acquired by Ascom
On March 23rd, it was announced that
Ascom has entered into an agreement to
acquire the TEMS product business from
Ericsson.
What does this mean for you?
The acquisition of the TEMS portfolio by Ascom represents
an important strategic development, creating a global
market leader for mobile network benchmarking and
optimization. TEMS will form, along with Ascom's Mobile
Test Solutions (MTS), a new core area named “Network
Testing,” enabling Ascom to offer "one-stop shopping"
in the area of mobile testing and optimization for mobile
telecom operators. Ericsson entered into the transaction,
which is expected to close in June 2009, in order to focus
more purely on its own Professional Services business.
Ascom is an international solution provider with compre-
hensive technological know-how in Mission-Critical Com-
munication. The company concentrates on the core areas
of Wireless Solutions and Security Solutions. This acquisi-
tion adds significant competence, industry-leading prod-
ucts, and a sizable customer base to Ascom, while enabling
the TEMS business to further realize its growth potential.
We are committed to making this transition as smooth as
possible. The dedicated TEMS Sales and Customer Sup-
port organizations will continue to serve customers. All TEMS
support agreements will be honored, and any routine sup-
port needs will be attended to through your regular helpdesk
contacts. Most contacts at TEMS will remain the same as
they are today for your convenience. If needed, new contact
information will be communicated to you promptly.
The exceptional benefits of the TEMS portfolio will further
expand, including our dedication to multi-vendor, multi-
technology solutions. At the same time, the TEMS develop-
ment group will have an ongoing, formalized relationship with
Ericsson to guarantee continued early access to Ericsson’s
leading-edge technology and infrastructure innovations.

updates will continue to receive valuable information about
the TEMS products in this way.
